Heather Kelly

A native of Newport News, Heather Kelly is a Regional Educational Partner Engagement Coordinator supporting scholars with the Scholar Application process and encouraging their achievements throughout their journey with VA Ready. As an advocate for lifelong learning, Heather believes that education is beyond a right, more significant than a privilege, and equivalent to a blessing. She believes everyone has the entitlement to a solid education, and as a result, the opportunity for a better chance at life’s possibilities. In over a decade spent teaching nationally and abroad in multiple subject matters, Heather successfully supported students from various backgrounds, educational levels, and life milestones. For her hard work and innovation, Heather was awarded Teacher of the Year during the academic terms of 2018-2019 and 2020-2021.

Heather is a proud alumna and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Virginia State University, a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashford University, and an additional Master of Arts degree in Special Education from Regent University.
