Mattie Green

Mattie Green handles the Certification Form and Scholar Application processes. She prides herself in assisting Scholars by meeting them where they are to help tackle the problems they may be facing.

While Mattie has held a variety of previous positions, each can be broken down to the core of serving and helping others. Whether teaching swim lessons or connecting students with campus resources, Mattie has always been passionate about assisting others with “taking the plunge” as they push their horizons.

Mattie’s higher education journey has taken her to both James Madison University and Ferrum College, allowing her to experience higher education at both a larger public institution and a smaller private institution. Additionally, she has taken courses at Virginia Western, allowing her to experience workforce classes at the community college level. These varying environments have enabled Mattie to meet and collaborate with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. She is looking forward to further fostering connections across the Commonwealth in the near future.
